The T-90SM is based on a later configuration that was offered for export Another updated configuration of T-90AM has subsequently been offered to the Russian Army and it has some features that were on that later export demonstrator, plus a few more changes. This version has not been modelled as of yet - it was revealed after the T-90#M models in RHS were finished. Swapping the names of the two tanks would not be accurate since the T-90AM model currently in the mod is not the version offered for export, and the T-90SM is not the version that was finally configured for the Russian military. One specific detail that sets the export model apart is that the commander's hatch opens to the rear on the export tank in the style of Western tanks, while the Russian military specified that the hatch should open forward to act as a shield for the commander. As far as well can tell, the Armata-style LED headlights are also only on the export configuration.
