Summary0005899: T-90 (AM / SM) tank names are reversed
Descriptionhi, i wanted to report the fact that the T-90 AM and T-90 SM tanks have their names reversed

basically the T-90 SM is an export variant of the T-90 AM and thus lacks the driver's camera and the extra ERA blocks on the side of the turret + the newer headlights, but in the mod its the other way around as the T-90 SM is the one with the extra upgrades and the T-90 AM is the downgraded one ...

all in all the way to fix it is to simply reverse the names of the vehicles in their pbo files by renaming the T-90 SM into T-90 AM and vice-versa.

I hope it can be fixed soon in an upcoming update

As far as I know export variants were offered with extra equipment in order to attract foreign buyers. Do you have some sources for your statement?

Yes, the T-90AM is based on the earlier version for the Russian Army. The T-90SM is based on a later configuration that was offered for export

Another updated configuration of T-90AM has subsequently been offered to the Russian Army and it has some features that were on that later export demonstrator, plus a few more changes.
This version has not been modelled as of yet - it was revealed after the T-90#M models in RHS were finished.

Swapping the names of the two tanks would not be accurate since the T-90AM model currently in the mod is not the version offered for export, and the T-90SM is not the version that was finally configured for the Russian military.

One specific detail that sets the export model apart is that the commander's hatch opens to the rear on the export tank in the style of Western tanks, while the Russian military specified that the hatch should open forward to act as a shield for the commander. As far as well can tell, the Armata-style LED headlights are also only on the export configuration.
