Summary | 0006712: M109A6 Paladin lacks M982 Excalibur shell
Description | When it comes to modern US artillery,no one cannot forget about the very effective M982 Excalibur shell. Unfortunately, it is not represented in this modification. This is strange, because even in the vanilla version, artillery has such a type of "guided" projectiles, guided by GPS. I don't think this will somehow break the balance, because we already have the M142 HIMARS, which can also be guided via GPS. To sweeten the pot for Russian faction mainers, you can also add 2K25 Krasnopol shells for 2S3M.

"even in the vanilla version, artillery has such a type of "guided" projectiles, guided by GPS" there is no such thing in vanilla. There LG shells but not GPS ones |

Nope, this is not LG shell,as indicated on Arma wiki, "Guided: 4 metre blast radius, infrared-guided; will attempt to home in onto "hot" vehicles within a radius of 800 metres. The submunition separates from the main shell once it is 500 metres above the impact zone. The IR seeker has a 10% chance to lose lock against smoke countermeasures". I tested it against infantry on custom building on distance near 23.000m(United Sahrani map from CUP, M4 Scorcher), and it has almost pinpoint accuracy, just like real Excalibur shell, unlike common HE shells. |

IR guided shell is... a IR guided shell. GPS guided shells are able to correct their flight path to hit target that was programmer to their memory while IR guided shells are seeking any heat signature when they less 0000069:0000150 meters above ground level |
