AFAIK, US Armed Forces after lessons learned from Iraq, decided that vehicles in combat zones, should not carry all this stuff hanging from them, as it easy catch fire, and burning fragments can fall on to engine deck and eventuall fal inside engine compartment through air induction ports, some tanks catched fire like this because crew lieked to carry all that stuff outside. |

Yeah we will think about it, source material is inconclusive about storage method on vehicles when it comes to crew belongings after Iraq and Afghanistan. Hard to say how this looks in combat conditions that obviously differs from peace time conditions. |
