Summary | 0006026: 7.92x57 rounds are underpowered |
Description | Please increase damage done by 7.92x57 at least to the same level as 30-06 rounds used in M1 Garand (rhs_ammo_762x63_M2B_ball, rhs_ammo_762x63_M1T_tracer) as they are quite contemporary, 30-06 is modeled after 7.92mm/8mm Mauser.
In mod files (rhsgref_c_weapons\cfgAmmo.h) rhs_ammo_792x57_Ball has "hit" value of 11.55 while rhs_ammo_762x63_M2B_ball|rhs_ammo_762x63_M1T_tracer have "hit" value of 13.75 (why nineteen percent more damage for 30-06!!!???)
Not just 30-06, seems even 7.62x54R and 7.62x51 M80 Ball outdamage that poor 7.92x57 in RHS |
Additional Information | It looks like there are lots of variants of 7.92x57 (and RHS seems to have defined M75 for M76 sniper rifle and S.m.K & S.m.K L'Spur for MG-42) but after digging through bunch of gun forums, there is particular pattern noticeable:
With 7.92x57 manufactured in U.S, "loaded-down" seems to be rule (reasoning in one of the gun forums "The US ammo companies have purposely loaded it down for junk war relics that may blow up in somebody's face."). Is experienced crappy U.S cartridges by devs the reason why it's made so bad in RHS?
European spec (incl. war time German manufactured) 7.92mmx57 seems to be much more performant due higher powder charges and be on par or exceed 30-06. |
