Summary | 0001718: Smoke discharges doesnt block lock from javelin. | ||||||||
Description | After i deployed smoke and start rotate the tank (beacuse AI still cannot reverse, where there is any AI on 10 meter from the tank) Javelin missle allways hit my tank, even when its all covered in smoke. Its impossible to escape/defend after missle launch. | ||||||||
Steps To Reproduce | Spawn in editor AT specialist and for example T-80, let AT guy shot to you, but deploy smoke in missle launch time, so whole tank will be in smoke, missle will hit you. | ||||||||
Additional Information | You may tell me i'm wrong, but logically if Javelin aquire by thermal, smoke screen is anti IR so it blocks thermal guiding. Anti-FLIR smoke grenades : 12x 81mm 3D17 Obscured band: 0.4 .. 14 mkm Bloom time: 3 sec Cloud persistence: 20 sec *https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shtora [^] [^] SO Bad_Tankman have right here. Those grenades are designed for something more than just smoke the area | ||||||||

This is your first warning. Do not remake/reopen tickets. You already added the comment to the original. If we think that you make a valid point we would reopen the original. As to your problem: 1. In arma smoke cannot break lock. 2. Missile in real life will still fall in last tracked location/general location of the tank and won't just fly off in to the ground. 3. Since Shtora doesn't automatically engage against Javelin, the actual chances that you launch smoke at exactly the time of launch is miniscule. |
