Summary | 0001610: Shtora slow reaction time.
Description | It works great if acctime set to 0.1. IRL shtora starts to react when the tank is lased. However in rhs it is a bit slow. It does launch cassettes in time, but it does not lead the missile away. I tried on distances up to 2 km. Even on 400m cassetes are launched appropriately (providing the turret turns fast enough) but lock is not broken. (I mean if you guide manually and not use "T" to lock on, with "T" it works almost every time, the AI however do not seem to use it that way)

What weapon do you shoot it with? |

This was posted before the 0.4.0.1 update, it is mostly fixed now when the AI shoots at it. When I am the gunner of a metis / TOW, the missile breaks away from the target but at the very end returns on its trajectory and hits. |

The delay you are experiencing is most likely the turret turning to face the threat. Try firing at the tank with the turret facing the launcher, if the problem still persists please comment here. |

Like I said, alot has been fixed in 0.4.0.1. The only thing remains now is when I aim at tank, fire, smokes deployed, rocket starts flying away, but then quickly returns on its trajectory and hits the tank that is completely covered by smoke by then. |

Ok, that's not a bug. Firstly modern missiles have protection against interference from the front. Secondly what happens is that a missile flying at the tank will first get interference from the strong IR pulse emitted by the smoke grenades, then while flying at the dazzlers it has a chance to get interference every 0.1 seconds, but if that interference happens at the start the missile's flight then it has a good chance to correct itself. I know this isn't 100% authentic, but I'm working on it, both Shtora and SACLOS behavior. |

I don't know but it seems wrong. According to Wikipedia at least: "Most of antitank SACLOS systems such as Milan and TOW use a strobe or flare (visible, infrared (IR) or ultraviolet (UV) light) in the tail of the missile with an appropriate sensor on the firing post, to track the missile's flight path. The launching station incorporates a tracking camera with two lenses. A wide field of view lens that locates and "gathers" the missile near the center of the gunners line of sight immediately after launch, and a narrow view lens with automatic zoom that accomplishes the fine tracking adjustments. In most configurations, the narrow field camera utilizes electronics that translate the brightest spot in the view – the flare or strobe of the missile – into an electrical impulse. This impulse changes as the missile leaves the center of the field of view, and the electronics automatically apply a correction instruction in the opposite direction of the change to re-center the missile." Dazzlers emit a cloud of IR light and so the launcher screen can not distinguish an IR light emitted from the back of the missile in that mess and can not issue adequate commands for trajectory correction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "With beam-riding SACLOS, the sighting device emits a directional signal directed toward the target. A detector in the tail of the missile looks for the signal. Electronics in the missile then keep it centered in the beam." Thick cloud of smoke disperse the laser beam making it impossible for the missile to see the point where launcher is aiming, leading the missile away. _______________________________________________________________________ Both Metis and tow are wire/radio guided SACLOS, meaning the dazzlers should pretty much be enough to mislead them. But that would mean that there is no laser beam pointed at the tank at all and the tank should not know when such missile is fired at it. I just realized it but correct me if I`m wrong. |

Hellfire missiles are beam riders. Except for the ones on the apache with a Longbow radar on top, these are guided by radar. So cobras Hellfires should not be automatically locked on but guided just like the "kokons" on the Mi24. And shtora smoke should work on both of them. (Except the apache Longbow). |

We also know how to use wikipedia, which is an unreliable source at best. You're wrong about the SACLOS guidance and we know about the Hellfires. |
