0006554: If a player is flashed by 2 (or more) M84 flashbangs, it's results to crash to desktop or worse
This bug is almost always repeatable with the players in our unit at the moment. It seems to have got more re-produceable over time. A couple of years ago, it affected about 50% of our players.

If a player is subject to the effects of a M84 flashbang before the effects of a previous M84 flashbang have worn off, it results in a crash to desktop - some times crashing the operating system itself as well.

Technically it is possible to flash yourself twice but this is much easier to repeat if you have another player available to help.

Have 1 player in a room. Get 1 (or more) other players to throw flashbangs into the room at relatively short intervals.
We are unsure if it's the flash/blinding effect that causes the crash or the audio effect.

can you provide .rpt files from those crashes? Are you sure no other mods were loaded? https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Crash_Files [^]

I've not kept any .rpts so far from the crashes, I'm afraid

We're quite reluctant to re-produce the crashes as it quite often results in a full PC crash/restart. Not even a blue screen.

If we get any more crashes, we'll try to keep the .rpt and then send them onto you.

ok. Without it, I don't think I can proceed any further. What about 2nd question?

Good point about mods. MOST of our occurences have been with a fairly heafty mod pack but I did re-create the error with (I think) just RHS a year or so ago (but might have also had ACE3 running).

The reason for the long delay in reporting it, is that we have a guy in the group who is pretty good at scripting and seemed to have quite a good idea of what was causing it. So I've been trying to persuade him to enter the feedback for ages as I figured it would be more useful that me adding something. But we've had another spate of crashes caused by this just recently which is why I thought I'd enter it myself.

One (ex) player ended up having their Windows installation shunted by the crash hence we're all a bit reluctant to re-test.

However, I'm going to give it a go now to check I can get it to happen with pure Vanilla and, fingers crossed, get you a .rpt file. I'm hoping I don't need to say, "I am just going outside and may be some time"....

OK - I've tried to re-create this on my own machine and can not achieve a crash.

I will try to persuade our server admin to run a session with just RHS on at some point so we can test with just that as the finger is now strongly pointing to something within the MP environment.
