what your saying is crap. Without a search/track system AH-1Z wouldn't be able to use hellfire Air-to-surface missiles and the AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles.
Here is a link to a list of vehicles that use this type of radar:

AN/APG-78 is used in AH-1Z and the TSS

Asteliks,
You probably should check your facts from more than one source prior to telling people they are talking crap.
Bottom line up front: the AH-1Z as portrayed by RHS is the more common version not equipped with a target aquisition/tracking radar of any sort. The AH-1Z does not require a radar to utilise the versions of the AGM-114 and AIM-9 it is fitted with in the game.
Explanation:
First, your reference states the following reference the AN/APG-78 "underwing on AH-1W/Z". This is technically correct, though it occupies a pod attached to one underwing weapon pylon and this is not modeled in the RHS version of the AH-1Z. Another proposed mounting option is this: http://eaglet.skr.jp/MILITARY/PICTURE/AH-1CRS.jpg [^] .. That is not modeled either. What you see in game is a non-radar version of the AH-1Z. It is the same as modelling an AH-64D Apache with the radar mast removed.
Second, multiple aircraft with no search/track radars utilise both the AGM-114 Hellfire ATGM and AIM-9 Sidewinder AAM. With two specific exceptions neither require a radar to be employed. Those exceptions are the AGM-114L Millimeter Wave Radar variant of the Hellfire (as employed on the radar equipped AH-64D Apache Longbow) and the AIM-9B/C Sidewinder which utilised semi-active radar homing rather than the more common Infra-Red method (and was phased out over 30 years ago).
Based on the 3D Models and the abstracted behaviour of the weapons in ARMA3, the AH-1Z modeled by RHS most likely uses the AGM-114K (Semi Active Laser Homing) and the AIM-9M/X. Neither of these missiles require a Radar to acquire, or track a target.
Check your facts mate. |

indeed you are correct but only with the lack of a modeled wing radar in the mod. Every helicopter missile needs a search/tracking system and that is a fact. Don't forget that the TSS displays it's data like a radar with minor exceptions. |

Show me a source that says the AH-64A, OH-58D, MD-500 or ARH Tiger either A) have a search/track radar fitted or B) need one to launch missiles at targets. Truth is that you won't.
There are multiple methods of guidance for Helicopter launched missiles and a lot of those don't require radar. Yes, SOME helicopters may be fitted with Radars, but many are not. The version of the AH-1Z in RHS is not fitted with a radar and its real-life counterpart works perfectly fine without said radar. |
