DescriptionThe CH-53E has limited ability to do water landing like the CH-47 has. This is no represented in the game with the current CH-53E.

Have seen CH-53A/D/G versions capable of it but not CH-53E, which is a significantly heavier helicopter (50% increase in weight over its predecesor).

The other 3-engined H-53 variant; the MH-53 Sea Dragon, has significantly bigger sponsons to assist flotation.
I find it unlikely that a CH-53E attempt it, because it will submerge the FLIR system and place water stress on the long IFRP - which would be very bad.

Indeed, if you look for photos of MH-47s in a similar configuration, they never appear to land on water like you see normal Chinooks doing.

Yes, you can close it was an earlier variant that I had seen make a water landing.
