0003715: The range bar on the Su-25 crosshair
From what I understand the plane can not measure distance to target without the laser, so this bar (see screenshot) should not be visible when laser is turned off.
Currently it is visible with FFAR, cannon and bombs.

Range is acquired through accelerometer and alt radar. Imagine a triangle where you know height and one of the angles. It's approximation and it would leave false range when target height is on different level but after all its Arma so some simplification is required

I mean maybe, but according to dcs at least, it only shows range when laser is on. This makes sense because weapons like FFAR and cannon have maximum engagement range before rounds will fall below crosshair, so the pilot needs to know exact range to target to see if weapon can be fired.
