Summary0000271: Lack of nightvision googles
DescriptionHi, i've created specialy account here to report most strange thing from that mod. Why Russian forces dont have night vision googles? In real they use severall types of them:

Even in all previous arma series, russian nation had NV googles.

NOTE: You cannot se nvg on day in soldier equipment, thats why they are absent on the photos, its nigh vision device, used mainly in night.

We take note of your wish.

Thing is that they are not even in our plans as they aren't used widely inside the Russian Armed Forces. But it could be interesting to have them at some point in the future for the spetsnaz units.

Obviously no promises.

I know but all units in russian army uses them IN NIGHT. thats why there is special mounts place on helmets which is sometimes not noticeable when covered with cammo material (same as whole helmet)

today all armies uses NVG, maybe not somalia :P I dont understand why russians in your mod doesnt have them, while every us soldier does. In US army not every units have them

In the US Army / USMC all line units use them (we have different advisers from that armies).

If you want to claim that the Russian Army line units do too, give us some reliable sources.

It remind me some discusion WITH MANY SOURCES, but i dont want to join it, beacuse some people dont respect reality ( i still have blocked account on facebook after dicusion). Its simple : some people are fans, and want to their favourite army have all, and "enemy army" have nothing, for easier gameplay. I sayed all about nvg in russian army, and i dont want to repeat this ;)

There is no source above, only pictures.

We have different advisers from both Russian & US armed forces and our goal is to try to make our mod as realistic as possible.

Unless you can provide reliable sources, please refrain to make any claim.

We need reliable sources which prove that the Russian Armed Forces line units use them widely.

Because even Russian soldiers have commented me that their use is really limited and restricted to few roles.

The first line of your article:

If civialian use them, and this is so cheap, army use them as wel - just as logic. I think there is no more need to discusion, look at ACE mod - they are carying reality same as you, and Russia allways had nvg in their mod

And if we create them, they are only gonna be assigned to spetsnaz unit; unless you can prove that they are in wide use among the Russian line units.

Your "main source" only describe a few Russian NVG models, not its usage.

I dont know what to say, but if in your opinion one of greatest army in the world are not using nvg, we have nothing to talk about, i shoved you models, and usage WRITTEN black on white, and you say this is not source. Why someone other from your team will not reply?

What do you expect? I need to show you soldier with it? - i showed. Detailed photos of model? I showed. Some discusion on forum? what for? This is logical that they are using that same as other countries.

The Washington Times is a newspaper. And in the article you linked it talks about Elite Russian Units ( spetsnaz and VDV Recon ), not line units.

I'm afraid that if you keep spamming this report, I'll have to close it.

The 45th Detached Reconnaissance Regiment, which is not a line unit, but a special forces one.
