Summary0000233: Animated Mi-24 Gauge Errors
DescriptionSeveral animated gauges in the 3D cockpit, pilot position, for Mi-24 models have incorrect information sources or calibration values.

Steps To ReproduceObserve instruments during normal flight operations.
Additional InformationDISS H.I. currently shows pitch and bank information (incorrect). It should show longitudinal and lateral drift speed from Doppler equipment. It may be possible to derive from vehicle velocity vector dotproduct with horizontal plane and azimuth. In unable suggest disable gauge entirely. Possibly realistic to have gauge only display velocity data if auto-hover engaged. Light in upper right corner illuminates when any indication is pegged.

ADI appears correct considering the limits of ArmA.

Vertical Speed currently shows pitch information (incorrect). Use animation source vertSpeed and/or vertSpeedRTD.

Rotor Pitch Indicator shows confusing and incorrect information. Since the real instrument shows average collective rotor blade angle, suggest using animation source collectiveRTD if more precise data can't be sourced. Use throttle for simple (non-RTD) info source if RTD unavailable.

Radio Altimeter, Baro Altimeter appear correct. Please use RTD animation sources when possible. E.g. altBaro -> altBaroRTD.

Radio Compass shows needle move to show aircraft heading (incorrect). Inner circular card should rotate entirely so that current heading is at the top of the gauge. Needle represents relative position of navigation destination direction from nose (waypoint).

Rotor/Turbine RPM gauges. The left gauge should show the RPM of the main rotor (95+-2% nominal, 88% minimum). The right gauge should read engine RPM 97-99% nominal. For example during auto rotation engine will be stopped or very slow but rotor will continue to turn due to wind loads. This is critical for performing auto-rotation. mainRotorRPMRTD & rpm1RTD.

EGT shows abnormally low values. Expect in-flight EGT in the vicinity of 690°C. temp1RTD Missing needle in the lower scale which shows fractions of 100°. E.g. needle will rotate once from 400 to 500 on the main scale. Not that 0 is down.

G-meter shows incorrect values centered around 0G instead of 1G. Animation source gmeter.

Navigation instrument upper right shows outer circle rotate with changes in aircraft heading (incorrect). This portion of the instrument is manually set by hand to select a desired radial for a radio navaid. The indicator is a swinging needle which aligns when on selected radial from radio navaid signal. Due to no radio navigation present in ArmA, suggest this gauge be completely disabled.

Fuel gauge appears correct except gauge should read 21.05 position (2,105 L) when full and not 25.

Gear lever animates correctly except red flap to the left is only for emergency extension. Due to ArmA limitations suggest that emergency remains static and only gear handle moves. Suggest adding parking brake indicator which is left left corner light (bottom of the 3) when ArmA wheel brake is on.

Cyclic animates backward. Moving to the right places stick animation to the right and vice versa.

rest was more or less tweaked, waiting for some more feedback after beta02
