0002044: Tweak armor on m1 tank
Speaking from a pure personal experience standpoint. The m1 is the most survivable tank in the world. The reactive armor along with the composite armor make an m1 tusk a feared enemy. Something that I think is ridiculous is that a t-72 from a click away can penetrate the frontal armor of an m1a1 TUSK variant
in reality the t-72 was a laughable opponent against the t-72 during the gulf was as if you talk to anyone in the cav or armor branch back then that saw action against them you would know that the t-72 doesn't stand a chance against a m1 for a frontal armor hit. Maybe you could lose your turret or optics and possibly get tracked but you shouldn't get absolutely destroyed. Sabot rounds stood out like pushpins during friendly fire incidents. The m1 needs to have stronger armor. I was playing with my realism unit when we were knocked out by a 72 and then later an entire section got destroyed by an RPG. This seems silly to me. Maybe we are getting unlucky but I think the same goes across the board. When basically every enemy fire team by default carries an RPG most of the time I feel safer Ina humvee then a tank. The armor needs to be strengthened on both the Russian and m1 familiys of tanks. The Bradley seems to be ok. And while being a driver 19K-10 I can attest to being bored in the drivers seat with nothing to look st but black with windows, the Bradley has a nice drivers position. Thanks!

With a lack of any better information, we deal with RHA penetration values which we calculated and double/triple checked. There is plenty of data online from very reliable sources. From our extensive (very very extensive) research we believe the values to be correct and also playable at the same time).

Gulf war experience tell very little about performance of T-72 against M1 due to Iraqi poor ammo, optics and general training. Basically the Iraqis didnt even get a chance to engage. OIF however showed that american tanks were vulnerable to RPG so your assertion that you should be safe inside an M1 is incorrect. Believe me twhen I say that this has been discussed, over discussed and argued to death so as it stands now we will not make any major changes.
