We might look at the lens shading but that RMR variant is only available IRL with a 7, 9 and 13 MOA dot, depending on the particular model number.
So the dot is fairly large compared to an Eotech (1 MOA dots and 68 MOA ring) or Aimpoint (2 or 4 MOA dots)

yes, the lens is very stark, as if it had a heavy fog in front, and the point I do not know to be so great, here a website demonstrating how it would be in the real!

"Despite the light weight and bomb proof construction I found that the dual illuminated RMR had restricted my ability to use my rifle at longer distances."
"The dot’s size hampered my ability to shoot at anything 200 yards +"
^These kind of say it all^ It's not much use for shooting centre-mass beyond 150m-180m away.
And the photos cannot be directly compared with ingame sized because of the different FOV of the camera lens compared to Arma 3's screenspace FOV.

At any rate: The sight's main purpose is for the M240's SU-260/P MDO (and in real life the M249 and M27 IAR's SU-258/PVQ) to quickly establish an area of suppression with automatic fire during initial response to contact, before making properly aimed shots with the magnified optic. This is what the USMC train their gunners to use the RMR for.
It's not there to be used for making precise shots over distance, and its inclusion on the TA31 is simply a bonus because we have the model available.
