| Summary | 0004700: AIM-9X Lock On Issue Based On Elevation |
| Description | Essentially, for whatever reason, the AH-1Z cannot lock onto a target past a certain elevation. |
| Steps To Reproduce | I locked onto a helicopter in a fixed position at a fixed altitude. Distance from the target played no part in the issue. There's a point of altitude in which we lose locking capability. Say X is the altitude of the target airframe, and A is the altitude of the AH-1Z trying to lock on. X is at 300m ASL (Above Sea Level). If A=X, we cannot lock on. If A is less than X, we cannot lock on. Only when A is greater than X will the AH-1Z be able to lock onto the target. |
| Additional Information | Listed here is a link to a video demonstrating the issue. You will notice I try many different things, and I'm narrating what's going on as I'm troubleshooting this. I'll upload it on youtube.
