0005315: AH-1Z Sensor does not display ground targets at night. Also, is the intent of the sensor correct?
The sensor currently being used is (by display) a thermal/visual sensor (orange cone). One would assume that it would display targets so long as they are thermal hot (not necessarily visual) but within the line of sight from the sensor itself. However, this is not the case.

During night time, ground targets will not display on the sensor. Radar contacts will still appear, and aviation targets will still appear. However, even radar ground targets will not display as a ground target; it only shows that something there has a radar signature.

This seems to always occur, and only resolves during daytime. Also, check additional information.
Make it night. Ta-dah.
The sensors are thermal/visual sensors equipped on the bird. Is the intent for the sensor to only detect targets that are hot enough and large enough (which will prevent display of infantry), or was it designed and intended to display all targets (aside from infantry) within line of sight from the AH-1's sensors? I'm fine with either, was wondering your intent. Currently, it's designed to display ANY targets within the sensors point of view (aside from infantry).

Thank you.
