Can you provide non dcs source for that? From what I've read it is possible to disable ccip reticle completely

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hszysWOuq-c [^] intentional most likely but in DCS it's possible to turn it off completely so I'm not 100% sure about it, that's why I've asked if you have some sources for that

Ye I read some forums on this and yes it seems they are meant to work together.

The static reticle is aimed at the target (because the moving one is jumping around) so that the angular rangefinder gets the distance for the correct spot.
If the distance is suitable for weapon of selected type, moving reticle is aimed at the target and weapon is fired.

Seems it is in fact mandatory to use them both for cannon and FFAR.

So no bug then.

I also read a book just now.

It is about a different plane but it has same sights as the su-25.
They are described on pages 183-184.

There is also a description of how SRAAMs are aimed using this sight.
Basicly to save time, it quotes:
"In close air combat the ASP-17ML sight was able to make target designation for R-60M and R-13M1 missiles. This was implemented thanks to the "Metka"("Mark") system that used target designation by moving the reticle using the knob on the stick (Same way as using the knob to move the reticle for guidance of AG missiles such as Kh-23)." - Maybe you could implement this too, would be awesome.

ok, I might try in the future to make that R60 thing since it sounds quite interesting

Is it possible to do autolock in planes ? Like you have now with stinger and igla, no button needs to be pressed and the target just locks if you aim at it.

Would be nice to just pont this su-25 reticle at target and it would lock it, same with mig-29 just point the HMD circle at target and locking starts without pishing buttons (with the r60 selected of course)
